Our Charism

"Devotion (Bhakthi) to the Holy Eucharist."

The core of this devotion is a deep personal attachment to Jesus in the Holy Eucharist.

The congregation of the Sisters of the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament (SABS) was founded on 8th December 1908. It is an indigenous religious congregation for women, of Pontifical status belonging to the Syro Malabar Major Archiepiscopal Church. The Congregation took its birth at Champakulam in Kerala. It was the fulfillment of God's infinite plan revealed through Venerable Mar Thomas Kurialacherry (1873-1925) an ardent devotee of the Holy Eucharist. He got the inspiration that “Our Lord in the Blessed Sarament should always and everywhere be known, loved and adored by all.”He shared this inner urge with Mother Mary Francesca de Chantal (1880-1972) the co-foundress and the first member of the congregation.
